EMUNNET
The European Model United Nations Network (EMUNNET) is a network of Model United Nations Organisations (MUNs) within geographical Europe. It allows MUNs to put their efforts together in order to work towards the common goal of promoting the MUN ideal. Launched at the GIMUN 2008 Opening Ceremony, it is the first initiative of this kind in the sense that it emerged as a joint initiative of six MUNs from different countries.
GIMUN currently holds the presidency of the Network.
BIMUN (Bonn International Model UN)
Conference: November / December
Bonn International Model United Nations/ Simulation Internationale des Nations Unies de Bonn (BIMUN/SINUB) is a bilingual university-level simulation of the United Nations and the European Union. The conference takes place in Germany’s UN city Bonn every year in early December. Since 2002 more than 700 students from over 40 countries have taken part in BIMUN/SINUB.
MILMUN (Milan International Model UN)
Conference: April 27 - May 2, 2009
The Milan International Model United Nations is a simulation of the United Nations’ various committees, agencies, bodies, specific organs and programmes. Students assume the roles of diplomats of the UN’s Member States within its different bodies. The goal of MILMUN is to let students have an experience with have educational impact both during and after University.
MUNUSAL (Model United Nations University of Salamanca)
Conference: March 10 - 14, 2009
The MUNUSAL is the newest member in the MUN-family and has held its first successful conference this year. A big number of Gi-, Mil- and Zagimuners has pilgrimaged to Salamanca in order to assist the birth of this new MUN and get familiar with the Spanish way of doing MUNs!
TEIMUN (The European International Model United Nations)
Conference: July 14 - 20, 2009
In 2008, TEIMUN held its 21st conference and is therefore older than all the MUNs listed here together. This experience translates directly into a very high quality-level of the main conference and The Hague as official seat of the ICC and other important institutions adds a very special flavour to the experience of participating in the TEIMUN.
ZAGIMUN (Zagreb International Model United Nations)
Conference: October 18 to 24, 2009
The Zagreb International Model United Nations (ZAGIMUN) is an annual United Nations simulation for university students organized by the Center for International Cooperation in Zagreb, Croatia. This year it was for the second time, from 19th to 25th October, 2008.
