In the past month, there have been two events organised by the GIMUN US Chapter in New York. On the 5th, mainly students from NYU visited to UN for an info session on how to start a career at the United Nations. On the 19th, the representatives from our US chapter visited the Security Council session on "Central African Region – Impact of illicit arms trafficking on peace and security".
Both events have been a great success and we hope to be able to organise more similar events in the future. Attached you can find the full report.
In February 2010 a delegation from MUNUSAL, the University of Salamanca’s Model United Nations, and one of our EMUNNET partners, took part at the HNMUN (Harvard National Model UN). After this, the delegation spent a week in NY. read more …
Dear Participants of our event organised on the commemoration day of the entry into force of the UN Charter,
we have finally revised and uploaded the final reports of all the panels, as well as Dr. Schnabel's slides.
We have used the first week of classes in order to introduce GIMUN to students from all Universities in Geneva. Apart from the presentations on the NGO and the Conference, by the President and the Co-Secretaries-General respectively we invited Marc Bruchez as a guest speaker. Mr. Bruchez works for the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs in the department of Political Affairs. He introduced the Swiss host state policy for International Organisations, introducing the relations Geneva has to the various international actors present. read more …
The first of two international study trips organised by GIMUN in cooperation with IFIL this year was the study trip to Lebanon. During one week, our EMUNNET Representative, Kaspar Paur, together with organisers from our partner MUN in Zagreb, gave the international participants a chance to form a strong knowledge base about the region and Lebanon in particular, in order to be able to form their own opinion.
