The GIMUN is a non-profit association and therefore a juristic person, defined by Swiss law.
At the end of July 2007, the GIMUN has 42 members, including the Excom 06, Excom 07, Excom 08 as well as the Conference 07 – Staff. Membership is generally open to everybody.
The General Assembly takes usually place in April, about 1-2 months after the conference.
GIMUN – the NGO (Non-Governmental Organization)
Since July 20th 2007, the GIMUN is also an “UN-accredited NGO in Special Consultative Status with the ECOSOC” . This does not affect our legal status in Switzerland, but marks a new era in the relationship between the GIMUN and the UN.
GIMUN – the family
The term “GIMUN-Family” comes from the “GIMUN-Family”- Facebook group which counts 140 members, the majority of them were participants in the Conference 07.
The Excom 08 however will use the “GIMUN 2008”-Facebook group as mean of communication, especially for more informal news which do not go out as newsletters. Everybody is welcome to join!
