UN-Accreditation

The new-acquired status with the ECOSOC allows the GIMUN to accredit students or other interested people to all UN-missions in the world. This gives us the unique opportunity to observe the councils we are simulating in the conference live, thus providing our chairs with the best source of preparation imaginable.

Access to these councils is not limited to chairs though; we can also open the doors to the UN for other interested GIMUNers.

An accreditation follows the following 3 steps:

1. Send in your application including the following points:
  • Relation to the GIMUN
  • Purpose of your visit (ex. final thesis, chair-preparation etc.)
  • Session and council you would like to get accredited for

2. The Excom will discuss your application and inform you of the outcome.

3. If the Excom decides to accredit you, you’ll have to sign an agreement that you won’t speak on behalf of the GIMUN.
