GIMUN X-Mas Dinner (20.12.07)

In London, we had the pleasure of participating in the Christmas Dinner of the LSE United Nations Society and it turned out to be such a cosy evening that we there was no doubt in our mind that we should organize such a Dinner as well…
… but swiss/GIMUN-style of course!

The extremely good (and sometimes blurry) memories of the legendary Swiss-Night with Fondue which always marks the first highlight of the GIMUN-week made the choice of food quite an easy one, the location however was a bit trickier. Not that the ‘Bain de Paquis’ wouldn’t serve as a perfect place for such a dinner, but apparently some people there are not to fond of students (”lazy parasites” in their view) and the fact that a Swiss-German accent could be made out didn’t facilitate things.

Quoi qu’il en soit, in the end these differences of perception could be overcome and around 25 GIMUNers enjoyed a very tasty Cheese-fondue accompanied by a glas of white wine in the ‘Bain’. It was also a chance to get to know each other better, since there are more and more people involved in the different initiatives of the GIMUN.

Those who didn’t have enough after three hours of dining made a little walk in order to digest the heavy food…
… and this walk led them directly to the HEI (the rumour was right, there was party), where they shook their tail feathers until the sunrise reminded them of the all the obligations a student has to fulfil!!!
