Journal : UNO You Know?

Click here to read the GIMUN Online Journal!

Concept

"UNO, You Know?" is an online platform where students interested in writing can publish their opinions and observations on United Nations conference that they attend, in the name of GIMUN. As GIMUN has a Special Consultative Status giving us access to the United Nations Office in Geneva, GIMUN has decided to use this to give young people a glimpse into the world of international relations on a concrete level.

Goal

We believe that we respond to the need of creating a place that allows one to orientate oneself in the vast domain of international affairs, where the quantity of available information is staggering.  This journal will therefore firstly gather the necessary and essential information on the United Nations. Furthermore, this journal will also serve as a platform allowing young people to express themselves by writing articles and by sharing their opinions on international current topics.

How to become a journalist

Do you have an interest in journalism and the United Nations? The GIMUN Journal "UNO: You Know?" is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated students willing to write.
Experience: Previous experience in journalism is not a must, however some basic notions that would enable one to write a coherent article is a requirement.

Language requirements: GIMUN is a bilingual organization (English and French), therefore a good knowledge of at least one of these languages is required. Articles can be written in French or English.

Suggested topics

  • A United Nations conference having recently taken place

  • A recent GIMUN event

  • A conference relevant to the United Nations, even though not necessarily within the UN building
