Since the beginning of GIMUN, the United Nations has cooperated intimately with the association on different levels. The UN has provided GIMUN with logistical support such as access to its infrastructure, in particular the use of rooms at the Palace of Nations in Geneva. Since 2007, GIMUN, as an NGO in Special Consultative Status with the United Nations ECOSOC, has gained access to the network of other UN-accredited NGOs.
In the area of social events and joint activities the Graduate Institute Students Association (GISA) has shown its commitment to furthering students’ activities within and beyond the Institute. This partnership has always been very dynamic and increasingly productive.
The University of Geneva is a crucial partner for GIMUN and its development. The university is supporting GIMUN both financially and logistically. In 2010, GIMUN was officially accredited by the University of Geneva, strengthening the partnership and providing the association with a number of benefits with regard to reaching out to university students.
