Important Note: As a student association, all roles within GIMUN are unpaid volunteer positions.
Role Description
-
As the Glossary Manager you are expected to work alongside GIMUN’S Translation Team to ensure linguistic consistency across all official GIMUN documentation by developing, maintaining, and expanding GIMUN’s glossary.
Key Responsibilities

Systematically expand the GIMUN Glossary of key terms, names, and concepts relevant to the organization and its activities.

Keep the Glossary up to date with new terminology as GIMUN projects and events evolve.

Coordinate with the team members (if need be) to ensure the Glossary meets the needs of translators.

Serve in a subsidiary function to the team, assisting with the translation of GIMUN’s website, newsletters, and official communications.
Candidate Profile & Outcomes

Proficiency in both English and French (a must), Spanish (highly desirable).

Attention to detail and data organization.

Efficiency in following and maintaining the current Glossary’s methodology.

Efficient team-work and communication skills.

Interest in terminology management, linguistic technology, or translation quality assurance.

Motivation to contribute to GIMUN’s mission and uphold linguistic standards.

Prior experience in translation or linguistic studies is an asset, but not mandatory.
